Greetings from rainy Chicago,
Mom and I are just passing the time in ICU right now. Dad looks MUCH better to me today. He has some color to his face. His right shoulder is hurting him alot, most likely because of how he was positioned in surgery. His eyes still look groggy and he doesn't seem to look right at us just yet. He is still able to move his limbs and head and has not complained recently of pain in his head. He had a CT scan at 6 a.m. and we do not have results yet...I will email you again when I hear about that. The residents should be making rounds soon. Speech came in and evaluated him this morning to work on a diet, but the nurse asked them to re-asses him because she wasn't sure he cand handle it just yet. He was sick from the meds this morning when we. His heart rate is still somewhat elevated, but the nurse said it seems like his baseline from pre-op was elevated as well, so this may be normal for him.
To me, he does not seem to be in as much pain today. He is able to speak somewhat although it is a struggle for him to get out words. BJ told him to holler if he needed anything and he said he'd probably just phone, so he still has his sense of humor. We feel very blessed and how remarkably well he seems to be progressing at this point. I think we will feel better when we can talk to the doctor or resident about his condition.
All of the family has left and its just mom and I right now. Rick Bailey said he is coming to visit and should be here in a few hours. He can have visitors in the ICU, two at a time in case anyone is wondering. He is doing well I think. Tell everyone thank you for their concerns and love and prayers! God has been really good to us!!!!! There will be more later when I have more information to share.
Thanks again!
Love,
Cejae
