Hello there,
Dad is very lethargic today. He isn't really responding when spoken to. He keeps wanting to sleep. He's still sleeping with his eyes open so now his "good eye" is really red and agitated. He isn't really able to focus and look at us. Yesterday he did look at me and say "Sis is crying," so he seems to know what is happening, just doesn't interact a lot right now. The doctor is concerned about his mental state. When you can get him to talk, he understands and is aware, but he is really non-responsive. The Dr. thinks maybe he is over medicated. His CT scan turned out normal and his blood work showed that his ammonia was elevated. They are giving him something to reverse some of the medication and also something to thin his mucus so he can spit it out easier. They have had to suction his throat to get the mucus-y stuff out and the nurse put a suction through his nose and down his throat. They can only suction every 30 minutes or else he will bleed the nurse said.
A man came in and spoke to us today about putting in the feeding tube. He said he may come back later today to have us sign some papers saying that it is okay to put that in.
I will hopefully have better news later and will try to update you all.
Thanks,
Cejae
